This week we have been looking carefully at introducing three and four ball games at St Audrys but we are not in a position to proceed at present. Rest assured that we are very conscious that some families want to play together and we are looking at how this can be done.
As play remains restricted to two ball games of social golf for the time being, we have been looking at how we can maximise opportunities to play by enabling members to identify and book a nine hole slot.
A new style booking sheet will become live on first thing on Sunday 7 June. If you have booked a slot after that time, Tony or Juliet Rhodes (01394 380020) will transfer your booking to the new system and be in touch if it is necessary to clarify your start time. The points to note are:
You are no longer required to provide a contact telephone number when booking a tee time.
The pace of play for each nine holes is still timed at 1 hour 30 minutes (10 minutes per hole).
Tee times must be booked and are restricted to one game ahead. You must remove your name if you find that you can no longer fill the slot, even if your withdrawal is very close to the booked time.
HOW TO BOOK
The new booking sheet is colour coded with the front nine in blue and the back nine in red
If you (and/or) a partner wish to play 9 holes only you will need to put your name(s) EITHER in the BLUE slot OR the RED slot depending on which tee time you require.
If you (and/or) a partner wish to play 18 holes you will need to put your name(s) in BOTH the BLUE slot AND the RED slot.
If you are a lone golfer and would like a partner, enter Partner Welcome in the empty slot as an invitation for someone else to play with you.
If you have any problems or questions about the new booking sheet please phone Rob Haste .
HIRING A BUGGY
It will be possible to hire a club golf buggy starting from Monday morning, 8 June
Golf Buggies must be booked and paid for on-line using the links on the booking page in the members section of the website.
Each buggy may only be hired once each day and must be returned before 6pm.
The procedure is as follows:
- Access the golf buggy keys which are kept in the key box mounted on the left-hand side of the players’ entrance lobby – the code is the same as that used for the entrance door code. If you do not know what this is you must email firstname.lastname@example.org in the first instance.
- Close the key box and rotate the combination to a random number.
- Clean all the surfaces you will touch using the wipes provided
- When you have finished your round, reverse and park up your buggy
- Clean all the surfaces you have touched using the wipes provided
- Put the buggy on charge.
- Replace the key in the key box, rotating the combination to a random number.
- Take all the wipes you have used home for disposal
Should you encounter any problems with the above instructions please email us to let us know – your feedback is always welcome.
Both booking sheets can be accessed in the members section of the website.
Social Distancing is still required at all times. It has been disappointing to have received reports that not all members are returning to the car park via the tarmac path alongside the road in order to return to the car park.
An increasing amount of litter is being found on the course, particularly tissues. Please ensure that you take all your litter home.
Our Play Safe Stay Safe document is currently being updated. The current version states that no visitors are allowed on the course and this remains the case except for juniors who cannot play on their own and must be accompanied by an adult until they are 12 years old.
